Helping future and current healthcare heroes in need

Mission

Geli’s Sunshine project is committed to carrying on the legacy of Angelica and Baby Isabella by helping existing and aspiring healthcare workers in need. Our foundation is dedicated to helping those healthcare heroes that put their lives at risk everyday for the people in their communities.

Angelica’s Story

Geli’s Sunshine Project was established in March of 2022 to honor our late daughter Angelica Marie (Geli) and her unborn baby girl Isabella Marie. Unfortunately, on December 5, 2021 Angelica who was just 26 years old and 19 weeks pregnant with her first child were both killed in a multi-car accident as she headed to work to start her morning shift at Riverside Community Hospital. Angelica was two weeks away from getting engaged and married to her long-time boyfriend/fiance Anthony Vasquez, who she met in elementary school and were high school sweethearts.  As a result of this tragedy, we wanted to continue their legacy by giving back to others in need and celebrating our health care heroes that do so much for us every single day.
Angelica M. Valle, was born on March 4, 1995 she was an energetic, funny, and very curious little girl. She was kind, loving, strong, and grew up to be an independent woman who was realizing all her hopes and dreams. Geli’s huge heart drove her to stand up for others and she was always willing to help those in need. She was family oriented and was proud of her Hispanic Heritage. She was intelligent, witty, funny but could also be feisty when she believed something was unfair or not right. She was a great big sister and like a little mom to her 3 younger brothers. Geli was an Alumni of Summit High School, Class of 2013. Angelica attended Cal State San Bernardino where she gained all her pre-requisites to pursue her career in nursing. In April 2021, Angelica graduated from West Coast University with honors and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Shortly after receiving her Registered Nurse License, she began her nursing career at Montclair Community Hospital in their MED-SURG Unit, where she helped treat COVID-19 and other critical patients. She then began her dream job in Labor and Delivery at Riverside Community Hospital. Angelica’s kindness and compassion helped her do what she loved best, which was helping others. She took pride in making a difference in this world and nursing allowed her to achieve this dream.

We want Angelica to be remembered by how she lived her life and by how she touched the lives of others. Even hours after her passing, she continued giving to others by donating vital organs to those in need. She helped 17 people around the world. Her last week on this earth our daughter helped deliver 9 babies, and she was so excited to have played a little role in bringing new life into this world.   Life is so precious and that’s why we want to bring help and hope to those in need, so that they can live their life to the fullest and pay it forward when that time comes.

This is how our daughter lived her life, always putting others before herself unconditionally. Their memory will continue to live on through your generosity, financial support, and volunteerism in our communities. How will you support this legacy?
